Legacy Systems Support

It’s a fact that major manufacturers prefer to focus on their new products, often diverting resources from supporting older ones. MEFF fills this support gap for the customer by performing repairs, redesigns and upgrades on obsolete or faulty equipment. The following examples are merely indicative.

Public Address & Intercom System

SUBCOM is a public address system, which supports the issuance of announcements and voice communication in areas with high levels of noise. The system ensures the immediate transmission of emergency notifications and instructions for prompt crew updates and facilitates group communication among crew members.

TV Cameras for Radar Directors

Cameras permanently installed on ship radars are exposed to particularly adverse conditions of temperature, humidity, and vibrations. As a result, their wear and tear are accelerated, leading to malfunctions. Our company repairs and manufactures TV cameras installed on existing radars, thus ensuring their optical functionality, which is crucial in various maritime missions.

Joystick for Gun Control

The 400Hz operated joystick is purpose-built to command legacy PANDA optical fire direction stations, essential for directing onboard weaponry on certain types of ships. In contrast to the original moving transformer version, this design is completely electronic, thus ensuring long lasting performance and reliability.

Electronic Crosshair Generators

Electronic crosshairs can be connected to observation or aiming cameras and used to indicate the optical center or measure deviations from it. Unlike an optical crosshair, the electronic one can be installed outside the camera housing, for example, at a monitor input. In this way, the crosshair characteristics (center position, size, color, division lines, etc.) are adjusted with ease and, above all, with safety.
